The Lenze EVS9321-EP is a Global Drive 9300 servo positioning controller for precise single axes in automated machinery. The EP version combines the power stage of a 0.37-kW servo controller with positioning functions for absolute and relative movements, homing, manual operation, and S-shaped ramps. The unit is designed for three-phase mains with a permissible voltage range from 320 to 528 V and 45 to 65 Hz; alternatively, the DC link can be supplied with 460 to 740 V DC. At 400 V and 50/60 Hz, the output power is 1.0 kVA. Rated output current is 1.5 A at 8 kHz or 1.1 A at 16 kHz switching frequency. For 200-percent overcurrent operation, the system manual specifies a maximum of 3.0 A at 8 kHz and 2.2 A at 16 kHz. The IP20 built-in unit measures approximately 78 × 350 × 250 mm and weighs 3.5 kg. It can operate from 0 to 40 °C without derating. The Lenze system bus connects additional servo controllers and input/output terminals to the control architecture. For a like-for-like replacement, the EVS9321-EP designation, device version, installed feedback, motor and mains connections, communication modules, parameter sets, and machine wiring are decisive. Cooling, mounting position, fuse sizing, and installed mains filters must also suit the existing system. The controller is therefore particularly suitable as a spare part for existing 9300 positioning axes where the mechanics, motor, encoder, and application program are to remain in use. Before commissioning, transfer the backed-up parameters and current axis configuration to the replacement unit in a controlled process.
