The Siemens 6ES7 197-1LA01-0XA0 is the complete Y-Link package for high-availability SIMATIC-S7-400H systems. The bus coupler provides the network transition from a redundant PROFIBUS-DP master system to a single-channel subordinate DP master system. This allows field devices and distributed I/O with only one PROFIBUS-DP interface to be connected as switched I/O to a redundant control architecture. The package consists of two IM 157 modules, one Y-coupler, and the BM IM 157 and BM Y-coupler bus modules. On the redundant side, the Y-Link operates as a DP slave; on the subordinate side, it operates as a DP master. If the active channel fails, the system switches without interruption to the previously passive IM 157. The redundant bus side supports all documented transmission rates from 9.6 kBaud to 12 MBaud; the subordinate PROFIBUS DP operates at 187.5 kBaud, 500 kBaud or 1.5 MBaud. A maximum of 31 DP slaves and 223 occupied slots are supported per subordinate master system. Input and output data can each comprise up to 244 Byte. Diagnostic alarms and LEDs indicate group faults, bus faults on both levels, the active channel and the 24-V supply. The IM 157 is supplied with DC 24 V, draws a maximum of 250 mA and has a typical power loss of 4 W; the Y-coupler is supplied through the bus module. For safe replacement, check the complete order number, component versions, STEP-7 version and configuration, number of nodes, telegram lengths, transmission rates and bus terminations together. Mounting, wiring and commissioning must be performed by qualified personnel. This allows an existing Y-Link station to be retained without fundamentally rebuilding the proven redundant PROFIBUS structure.
