The Heidenhain ROD 456 2500 incremental rotary encoder belongs to the ROD-456 series and provides 2,500 lines per revolution. The exact identification number assigns the version to a radially routed 1.00 m cable with free end. Its output consists of two approximately sinusoidal signal sequences at about 11 µASS and one reference signal peak. The light source is supplied with 5 V ±5 %; documented current consumption is 120 mA. Permissible scanning frequency depends on the connected subsequent electronics. Mechanically, the encoder has a synchro flange with 58 mm outside diameter and a 6 mm solid shaft. The flange drawing marks the outside-diameter value as 58. The shaft projects 10 ±1 mm beyond the mounting surface. The enclosure is specified as IP64. Permissible mechanical speed is 12,000 U/min, axial shaft load is 10 N and radial load at the shaft end is 20 N. The documented operating temperature range is 0 °C to +50 °C. External dimensions excluding the connection cable are 73 × 58 × 58 mm; the official technical data gives an approximate weight of 0.4 kg. Rotor inertia is 14.5 gcm². What applies if an item develops a defect within 14 days?
For the condition categories “Used, removed from an installation” and “New, old stock”, the contractual 14-day right of return in the event of a defect applies. The defect must occur within 14 calendar days after delivery and be reported in text form within the same period.
In particular, the REHA tamper-evident seal must remain fully intact and our RMA approval is required before return. In an accepted case, we decide between replacement and refund. Details in Section 11 of the Terms.

Can I return an item ordered incorrectly or found incompatible?
No. There is no general B2B right of return, exchange, cancellation or withdrawal. Incorrect or duplicate orders and a lack of suitability or compatibility with the customer’s installation are not covered by the contractual 14-day right of return in the event of a defect.
