Siemens 6AG1 416-3ES06-7AB0 is a SIPLUS extreme CPU 416-3 PN/DP central processing unit for high-performance SIMATIC-S7-400 controllers. It is based on the standard CPU 6ES7 416-3ES06-0AB0, with the addition of conformal coating and an extended operating temperature range from −25 to +70 °C. The module is therefore designed for industrial environments where temperature, dust or material exposure exceed typical control-cabinet conditions. Its integrated working memory totals 16 MByte, divided evenly into 8 MByte of program memory and 8 MByte of data memory. The first interface is MPI/PROFIBUS DP via X1 at up to 12 Mbit/s. The second interface, X5, connects Industrial Ethernet and PROFINET. A suitable IFM interface module can be added in the third slot, IF1. Siemens identifies the exact SIPLUS version as firmware generation V6.0; the underlying CPU supports isochronous operation via PROFIBUS DP or PROFINET. Power is supplied through the S7-400 system power supply. The base module draws a typical 1.3 A and a maximum 1.5 A from the 5-V backplane bus; typical power loss is 6.5 W. An important point for retrofit and maintenance is that this CPU is explicitly not approved for safety-related applications. A visually similar CPU 416F or a later V7 version must therefore not be installed without checking the project configuration and approval status.
