The Siemens 6ES7157-0AA82-0XA0 interface module IM 157 processes up to 244 Byte of input/output data per telegram. The module belongs to the SIMATIC DP system and handles PROFIBUS communication within DP/PA Link or Y Link structures. Together with one or more DP/PA couplers, it forms a DP/PA Link; on the higher-level side, the module operates as a DPV1 slave. With dimensions of 40 × 125 × 130 mm and a weight of approximately 200 g, the interface module remains compact. It is supplied with 24 V DC, has reverse-polarity protection and tolerates an interruption of 5 ms. At 24 V, maximum current consumption is 250 mA and typical power consumption is 4 W. A test voltage of 500 V DC is specified for electrical isolation. In the redundant PROFIBUS-DP master system, the IM 157 covers transmission rates from 9.6 kbit/s to 500 kbit/s. For the lower-level PROFIBUS-DP system, 1.5, 3, 6 and 12 Mbit/s are documented. In addition to the maximum 244 Byte for input/output and configuration data, 188 Byte are available for the diagnostic telegram and 18 Byte for the parameterization telegram. Five indicators distinguish the main operating and fault states: SF signals a group fault, BF1 and BF2 identify bus faults in the two communication areas, ACT shows the active interface and ON indicates the applied supply. The PROFIBUS product directory assigns the order number to the product class Link, coupler, gateway and proxy. The module has an extended temperature range and is therefore a clearly defined communication component within the stated Link architecture.

How much data does the IM 157 process per telegram?
Up to 244 Byte each are documented for input/output data and configuration data. The diagnostic telegram comprises up to 188 Byte and the parameterization telegram 18 Byte.
Which PROFIBUS speeds does 6ES7157-0AA82-0XA0 support?
In the redundant DP master system, the documented rates range from 9.6 to 500 kbit/s; in the lower-level DP system, 1.5, 3, 6 and 12 Mbit/s are available.
What applies if an item develops a defect within 14 days?
For the condition categories “Used, removed from an installation” and “New, old stock”, the contractual 14-day right of return in the event of a defect applies. The defect must occur within 14 calendar days after delivery and be reported in text form within the same period.
In particular, the REHA tamper-evident seal must remain fully intact and our RMA approval is required before return. In an accepted case, we decide between replacement and refund. Details in Section 11 of the Terms.

Can I return an item ordered incorrectly or found incompatible?
No. There is no general B2B right of return, exchange, cancellation or withdrawal. Incorrect or duplicate orders and a lack of suitability or compatibility with the customer’s installation are not covered by the contractual 14-day right of return in the event of a defect.
