The Siemens 6ES7523-1BL00-0AA0 combines sixteen digital 24-V inputs and sixteen 24-V outputs in one SIMATIC-S7-1500 module. The SM 523 DI 16x24VDC BA / DQ 16x24VDC/0.5A BA therefore handles both acquisition and output of binary signals. The inputs form one common group and comply with input type 3 according to IEC 61131. The specified typical input delay is 3.2 ms. On the output side, the 16 channels are divided into two groups of eight outputs. Each output is rated for 24 V DC and up to 0.5 A; the maximum total current per group is 4 A. The module is supplied with 24 V DC within the permissible range of 19.2 to 28.8 V. Its maximum current consumption is 30 mA, while 1.1 W is drawn from the backplane bus. Engineering and parameterisation use TIA Portal from version V13. Incorrect or duplicate orders and a lack of suitability or compatibility with the customer’s installation are not covered by the contractual 14-day right of return in the event of a defect.
