The Heidenhain 749 147-01 is an incremental rotary encoder from the ERN 1387.035 series for precise position and speed feedback on servo and spindle motors. Its complete model designation is ERN 1387.035-2048, combining the mechanical version with a line count of 2.048 per revolution. The encoder has integral bearings and is attached to the motor through a stator coupling. This construction accommodates permitted mechanical tolerances between the rotor and encoder housing without replacing accurate centring and installation to the manufacturer’s specifications. A 5 V DC supply is required. Electrical connection is provided by a straight, double-row 14-pin connector.
