The Schneider Electric TSXAEY414 is an analog input module from the Modicon Premium range for demanding measurement tasks in installed PLC systems. Its four inputs are galvanically isolated from one another and can be configured channel by channel for different measuring ranges. Supported voltage signals include ±10 V, 0 to 10 V, ±5 V, 0 to 5 V, and 1 to 5 V, while current ranges comprise 0 to 20 mA and 4 to 20 mA with an external 250-Ω shunt. For temperature and resistance measurement, the module processes Pt100, Pt1000, and Ni1000 sensors in two- or four-wire configurations, resistance ranges up to 400 Ω or 3850 Ω, and thermocouple types B, E, J, K, L, N, R, S, T, and U. The A/D converter operates at 16 bits; acquisition of all four channels takes 550 ms. A first-order digital filter can be configured with a time constant from 0 to 68.5 s. Galvanic isolation is rated at 2830 V rms between channels and 1780 V rms between a channel and the bus or ground. Internal or external cold-junction compensation supports thermocouple applications. The module requires the separately ordered TSX BLY 01 screw terminal block and typically draws 660 mA at 5 V DC from the backplane bus. For replacement, compare the complete type number, slot, terminals, measuring range, sensor type, two- or four-wire connection, shunts, filtering, scaling, and error handling in the installed Control Expert application. Compensation method and cable routing are particularly important for thermocouples. The TSXAEY414 is therefore a targeted spare for Modicon Premium systems when the existing measuring-point configuration must be retained without restructuring the PLC architecture.
