With a front housing size of 98 × 155 mm and an overall depth of 49 mm, the Siemens 6AV3688-3AF37-0AX0 is a compact SIMATIC HMI KP8F PN Key Panel. A 67.7 × 129.7 mm cutout is specified for front installation; the mounting plate may be 2 to 6 mm thick. The unit weighs 280 g and is installed in portrait or landscape orientation with mounting clips. Without external ventilation, an inclination of up to 30° forward or backward is specified. The operating side has 8 freely labelable short-stroke or function keys. 8 brightness-adjustable direct LEDs provide 5 colour modes in red, green, blue, yellow and white. The keys are handled as S7 input peripherals, while the LEDs are handled as S7 output peripherals. A maximum total of 8 digital inputs and outputs is available for standard signals. In addition, 2 safe digital inputs are provided for one two-channel SIL-3 evaluation or two single-channel SIL-2 evaluations. 2 Industrial Ethernet interfaces with an integrated switch form the network side. The Key Panel reaches IP65 at the front and IP20 at the rear. The permissible operating temperature range is 0 to 55 °C, and relative humidity may reach 95 % without condensation.
