Siemens 6ES7 405-0RA02-0AA0 is a PS 405 power-supply module for the SIMATIC S7-400 automation system. It supplies the S7-400 backplane bus from a DC source and is designed for rated input voltages of 24, 48 or 60 V DC. The 5-V backplane bus receives up to 20 A without a required base load. The module also supplies up to 1 A to the 24 V backplane bus and is no-load proof on that output. Rated input current is 7 A at 24-V DC, 3.2 A at 48 V DC and 2.5 A at 60 V DC. Siemens specifies a 20 ms ride-through time for short mains or voltage interruptions in accordance with the NAMUR recommendation. Maximum inrush current is 56 A with a half-value width of 1.5 ms. The outputs are short-circuit protected, and the primary and secondary sides are electrically isolated. Typical active power consumption is 168 W and typical power dissipation is 44 W. Two optional lithium AA backup batteries, each rated at 3.6 V and 2.2 Ah, can be installed. The PS 405 occupies two slots, measures 50 mm wide, 290 mm high and 217 mm deep and weighs approx. 1.3 kg. Siemens specifies protection class I with a protective conductor, overvoltage category II and an operating-temperature range of 0 to 60 °C. The electrical connection accepts three 1.5 mm² conductors, either solid or flexible with ferrules. Before replacement, compare the full order number, input voltage, backplane-bus load, installed backup batteries, protective-conductor routing, conductor cross-section and available rack width. This AA02 version is a precisely defined replacement for high-output, DC-powered S7-400 central racks.
