Siemens 6ES7 422-1BH10-0AA0 is a digital output module SM 422 for the SIMATIC S7-400 automation system. It provides 16 outputs for 24-V-DC loads and is divided into two isolated groups, each with eight outputs. The nominal current per output is 2 A; Siemens documents a permissible range of 5 mA to 2.4 A for the signal 1. The nominal load voltage is 24 V DC and may be between 20.4 and 28.8 V DC. For each supply voltage group, the total current is at 20 °C to 4 A and at 60 °C to 2 A. For DC actuators, a maximum lamp load of 10 W and up to 100 Hz switching frequency with ohmic load are specified. For inductive loads, a maximum of 0.2 Hz applies at 1 A or 0.1 Hz at 2 A. The switching delay is at most 1 ms. Electronic short-circuit protection responds in the range from 2.8 to 6 A; the internal limitation of the inductive switch-off voltage is a maximum of -30 V. Green status LEDs show the status channel by channel, even if the front connector is not inserted. The module does not offer any diagnostic or interrupt functions. Unshielded cables may be up to 600 m long, shielded cables up to 1,000 m long. The current requirement from the S7-400 backplane bus is typically 110 mA and a maximum of 160 mA at 5 V DC; a maximum of 30 mA is drawn from the load supply L+ without load. The typical power loss is 5 W. With 25 x 290 x 210 mm and approximately 600 g, the module corresponds to the narrow S7-400 design. For commissioning, each eight-channel group must be supplied with the rated load voltage at least once. When replacing, the complete order number, terminal assignment, group supply and load characteristics must be checked together; the successor 6ES7 422-1BH11-0AA0 must not be treated as equivalent without checking the supply characteristics.
