The Siemens 6EW1810-3AA is the SP6 power supply for racks in the SIMADYN D control and automation system. The module converts a DC input of 22 to 30 V DC into the three internal supply levels required by the system. +5 V at 22 A is available for digital logic and processor cards. Two additional outputs provide +15 V at 1.6 A and −15 V at 1.2 A for analogue circuits, signal conditioning and other system components. These separate rails allow the SP6 to supply several functional groups in a SIMADYN D configuration from one shared input. Documented monitoring routines supervise the operating voltages and support a defined supply to the connected modules. The housing is designed as a plug-in industrial power supply for the existing system frame. With dimensions of 250 mm height, 130 mm width and 510 mm length and a mass of 13 kg, sufficient installation space and load capacity must be considered before replacement. Order number 6EW1810-3AA and device designation SP6 must match the removed module in full. Similarly named SIMADYN power supplies must not be fitted solely because their housing looks the same, as output currents and system assignments may differ.
