The Siemens 6SE7028-0ES87-2DA1 is a braking unit from the SIMOVERT MASTERDRIVES range. When a drive decelerates, it handles the energy fed back into the DC link and controls the connected external braking resistor. This enables surplus energy to be converted into heat before the DC-link voltage reaches an impermissible level. The unit uses the Compact Plus design and is intended for control cabinets and existing machines with a compatible MASTERDRIVES configuration. For this variant, Siemens documents a P20 rated power of 50 kW, a voltage limit of 757 V and a rated DC voltage range from 510 to 650 V DC.
