The Control Techniques SP3402 belongs to the modular Unidrive SP drive platform and is designed to control three-phase induction motors and dynamic servo drives. Frame size 3 operates on three-phase supplies from 380 to 480 V AC and covers powerful machine axes with 43 A in normal-duty operation or 40 A in heavy-duty operation. For heavy-duty applications, the official crossover documentation specifies 18.5 kW or 25 HP and a maximum output current of 70 A. This makes the inverter suitable for conveyors, winders, extruders, machine tools and other applications with high starting or acceleration torque. The Unidrive SP platform supports open-loop and closed-loop control, servo tasks and regenerative concepts. An integrated brake chopper enables dynamic braking with a suitable external resistor; DC injection braking and holding functions are also available. For communication, the platform provides a 2-wire RS-485 interface with Modbus RTU and data rates up to 115.200 baud. Plug-in option modules add feedback, fieldbus and application functions, so the installed configuration must be carefully transferred or re-engineered during replacement. The documented frequency range extends to 3,000 Hz in open-loop operation, while closed control loops support speeds up to 40,000 min⁻¹. With dimensions of approximately 389 × 249 × 259 mm and a weight of about 15 kg, the SP3402 is intended for control cabinet installation. Before recommissioning, the complete type number, mains voltage, motor rating, encoder, braking resistor, safety circuit, option modules, software version and secured parameter set must match. This allows an identical Unidrive SP controller to be replaced without claiming interchangeability with neighbouring variants.

What power rating does the Control Techniques SP3402 provide?

The SP3402 is documented for 22 kW or 30 HP in normal-duty operation and 18.5 kW or 25 HP in heavy-duty operation. The load profile and parameter set must match the machine.

What must be checked when replacing an SP3402?

Compare the complete type number, mains voltage, motor and encoder data, braking resistor, option modules, safety circuit, software version and secured parameter set. Neighbouring variants are not automatically interchangeable.

Is there a guarantee?

Yes, we provide a 14-day functional guarantee for used items. This means the component must be operational when received.

Please note that the guarantee only applies when the warranty seal is undamaged.

If a defect occurs within 14 calendar days, please contact us in writing. Subject to availability, we will provide a replacement or refund the full purchase price after return.

Can we return items if they were ordered incorrectly?

Because we sell exclusively to business customers (B2B), there is no general right of return and no consumer right of withdrawal.

Please note that returns of functioning goods are generally excluded. In justified exceptional cases, we can assess an individual solution, but this is not the standard procedure.
