Control Techniques UNI1405 is a variable frequency drive from the Unidrive Classic range for demanding industrial drive applications. This version belongs to the 400-V class and, according to the Unidrive user guide, is designed for a three-phase supply of 380 to 480 V AC. With a nominal rating of 4 kW, 5 hp and up to 9.5 A output current at 40 °C, it is suitable for motor, machine and axis applications where an existing Unidrive of the same type must be replaced or an installed drive system restored. The platform supports open-loop operation with V/f or vector control, closed-loop vector control, servo operation and regenerative operation. It can therefore be used with standard induction motors as well as feedback-controlled drive systems, provided that the motor, encoder, option modules and parameters match the specific machine. For electrical comparison, the complete type number, typical input current of 10 A, maximum continuous input current of 12 A, recommended 16 A fuse and 2.5 mm² conductor size are particularly relevant. The drive is frame size 1, weighs approximately 4 kg and measures about 366 × 95 × 200 mm when surface mounted. Suitable brackets allow either surface or through-panel mounting. Before replacement, document the control terminals, encoder feedback, braking circuit, option modules, motor data and parameter set, then compare them with the replacement unit. This applies to planned maintenance as well as urgent downtime.
