Control Techniques SK2403 is a Commander SK series frequency inverter for general industrial speed and torque applications. The device operates from a three-phase 380 to 480 V AC supply at 50 or 60 Hz. In Normal Duty, the documented ratings are 15 kW motor power and 29 A continuous current; Heavy Duty provides 11 kW and 25 A. These two duty classes are particularly important when identifying a spare part because motor power and permissible output current depend on the application. Commander SK supports open-loop vector control and V/f control for asynchronous motors. The maximum overload is specified as 150 percent of rated current for 60 seconds. Switching frequency can be set to 3, 6, 12 or 18 kHz, and output frequency extends to 1,500 Hz. A dynamic braking chopper and DC injection braking are included in the documented functions. Digital and analog inputs and outputs plus a serial communication interface are available for control. The enclosure has an IP20 rating and uses forced-air cooling. With a width of 155 mm, height of 368 mm, depth of 219 mm and weight of approximately 7 kg, control-cabinet space and handling can be assessed precisely before replacement. The integrated keypad also provides direct access to the basic commissioning parameters at the control cabinet. Control Techniques lists the Commander SK series in the maintenance lifecycle stage and names Commander C200 as its successor platform. For repair or retrofit, however, the complete SK2403 type number, supply voltage, duty class, motor current, braking resistor, control terminals, communication options and saved parameter set must be checked for the specific machine. General interchangeability with a successor device is not assumed.
