Product description
Within the FANUC AC servo motor series, Model 20 provides 3.5 kW output power for the A06B-0502-B206. The type code assigns B206 to the version with a holding brake and an incremental encoder providing 3,000 pulses per revolution. For installation planning, the brake-specific drawing shows an overall length of 425 mm and a housing length of 350 mm. The square flange has a locating diameter of Ø 172 mm; four Ø 13.5 mm mounting holes are positioned on a Ø 200 mm pitch circle. Stall torque at 20 °C is 22.5 Nm, while continuous RMS current at stall is 19.7 A. The theoretical maximum motor torque is 147 Nm. The value available in operation is determined by the current limit of the drive amplifier used. Maximum speed is 2,000 min⁻¹. The holding brake has a brake torque of 60 kg·cm and is supplied with 90 V DC. The brake data for Models 10 to 30 specifies a maximum current of 0.6 A. The brake is intended to hold the axis when servo control is inactive and is not an operating brake for reducing normal stopping distances. Feedback is provided by the integrated 3.000-pulse incremental encoder. Power, feedback and brake each have separate electrical connections on the motor housing. Further Model 20 characteristics include a rotor inertia of 0.017 N·m·s², a torque constant of 11.7 kg·cm/Arms and a back-EMF constant of 40 V per 1,000 min⁻¹. Armature resistance is 0.17 Ohm. Mechanical and thermal time constants are 6 ms and 65 min respectively. The series is self-cooled. A base motor weight of 34 kg plus an approximately 8 kg brake gives an approximate motor weight of 42 kg.
