A measuring length of 220 mm identifies the Heidenhain 572 250-04 within the slimline LS 487 series. The sealed incremental linear encoder has a glass scale with DIADUR grating. Its grating and signal period is 20 µm; the documented accuracy grade of this exact version is ±5 µm. ID number 572 250-04 distinguishes this combination of measuring length, accuracy and reference-mark arrangement from other LS-487 versions. The output consists of sinusoidal voltage signals with 1 VSS. The specified supply is 5 V DC with a tolerance of ±0.25 V. Electrical connection is made through a male 14-pin flange socket on the mounting block; a separate adapter cable connects there. Two reference marks are each positioned 35 mm from the beginning and end of the measuring length. The complete variant sequence also denotes this arrangement as R35/R35. End block version 09A describes mounting with or without a mounting spar. For the installed scale, the series documentation specifies IP53 when mounted according to the instructions. IP64 is specified with purge air supplied by a DA-400 unit. The permitted operating temperature range is 0 to 50 °C; maximum traversing speed is 120 m/min. Series mass is calculated as 0.4 kg plus 0.5 kg per metre of measuring length, resulting in approximately 0.51 kg at 220 mm. Clear technical identification therefore requires the ID number, LS 487, 220 mm measuring length, 1-VSS interface and both reference-mark positions together. The final characters of the identifier must not be combined with other measuring lengths or accuracy grades.

What applies if an item develops a defect within 14 days?

For the condition categories “Used, removed from an installation” and “New, old stock”, the contractual 14-day right of return in the event of a defect applies. The defect must occur within 14 calendar days after delivery and be reported in text form within the same period.

In particular, the REHA tamper-evident seal must remain fully intact and our RMA approval is required before return. In an accepted case, we decide between replacement and refund. Details in Section 11 of the Terms.

International deliveries and deliveries to new customers are generally made against advance payment unless we expressly confirm another payment arrangement.

Can I return an item ordered incorrectly or found incompatible?

No. There is no general B2B right of return, exchange, cancellation or withdrawal. Incorrect or duplicate orders and a lack of suitability or compatibility with the customer’s installation are not covered by the contractual 14-day right of return in the event of a defect.
