In the SIMATIC S7-400 rack, Siemens 6ES7 431-1KF10-0AB0 acquires analogue process values. As an SM 431, it provides eight analogue inputs for voltage and current measurement; four channels are available for resistance and temperature measurement. Conversion uses 14 Bit including sign and overrange. Integration times of 16.7 or 20 ms and suppression of 50- or 60-Hz interference frequencies can be configured. The measuring spectrum includes several symmetrical voltage ranges up to ±10 V, 1 to 5 V, current measurement, resistances up to 6.000 Ohm, resistance thermometers and thermocouples. Temperature signals include Pt100, Pt200, Pt500, Pt1000, Ni100 and Ni1000 as well as thermocouple types B, E, J, K, L, N, R, S, T and U. Measuring-range modules assign two adjacent channels to one measuring type. Resistance and temperature measurements are configured on even-numbered channels 0, 2, 4 or 6; the adjacent channel remains occupied. The analogue section is isolated from the S7-400 backplane bus and load voltage, but not between individual channels. L+ at 24 V DC can supply two-wire transducers. The module draws a maximum of 600 mA from the 5-V backplane bus and has a typical power loss of 3.5 W. Shielded signal cables may be up to 200 m long; 50 m applies to thermocouples and small voltage ranges. The enclosure measures 25 × 290 × 210 mm and weighs approximately 500 g.

Which measurement types does Siemens 6ES7 431-1KF10-0AB0 process?
The SM 431 processes voltage and current signals, resistances, resistance thermometers and thermocouples. Eight channels are available for voltage and current measurement and four for resistance and temperature measurement.
How is the SM 431 6ES7 431-1KF10-0AB0 electrically isolated?
The analogue section is isolated from the S7-400 backplane bus and the L+ load voltage. The individual analogue input channels are not isolated from one another.
What applies if an item develops a defect within 14 days?
For the condition categories “Used, removed from an installation” and “New, old stock”, the contractual 14-day right of return in the event of a defect applies. The defect must occur within 14 calendar days after delivery and be reported in text form within the same period.
In particular, the REHA tamper-evident seal must remain fully intact and our RMA approval is required before return. In an accepted case, we decide between replacement and refund. Details in Section 11 of the Terms.

Incorrect or duplicate orders and a lack of suitability or compatibility with the customer’s installation are not covered by the contractual 14-day right of return in the event of a defect.
