Siemens 6ES7 455-0VS00-0AE0 is the FM 455 C control module for the SIMATIC S7-400 automation system. The C version operates as a continuous controller with analog outputs and provides 16 independent control channels. It is suited to temperature, pressure, flow, level and concentration control, as well as common tasks in machinery, process plants and furnace systems. The unit provides 16 digital inputs, up to 16 analog inputs and 16 analog outputs. When Pt100 sensors or four-wire connections are used, the number of available analog inputs is reduced to eight. The inputs support voltage, current, type B, J, K, R and S thermocouples, and Pt100 resistance thermometers. FM 455 C output ranges include 0 to 10 V, -10 to +10 V, 0 to 20 mA and 4 to 20 mA. Measurement resolution can be configured to 12 or 14 bit. The module uses a 24 V DC supply, with a permissible range of 20.4 to 28.8 V. Typical power dissipation is 12 W, while Siemens specifies a maximum of 17.3 W. Two 48-pin front connectors connect the sensors and actuators. At 50 x 290 x 210 mm and approx. 1.4 kg, the module occupies two standard S7-400 slot widths. Before replacement, compare the full order number, the C version, input wiring, output signals, front connectors and installed STEP-7 parameter set. These checks allow the control function of an existing S7-400 system to be retained without changing the entire automation architecture and support a clear spare-part decision during service.
