Siemens 6ES7 461-0AA01-0AA0 is an IM 461-0 receive interface for the SIMATIC S7-400 automation system. It connects an expansion rack centrally to the central rack and is used exclusively with the IM 460-0 send interface. The interface pair transfers both the P bus and communication bus, but it does not transfer the supply voltage. The expansion rack therefore requires its own compatible power supply. Siemens cables from the 6ES7 468-1 family are specified for the connection. The Siemens catalog lists lengths of 0.75 m, 1.5 m and 5 m; the total cable length between the first and last interface must not exceed 5 m. The bus is terminated at the final receive interface with the specified terminating plug. IM 461-0 has two front connection ports so that the interface chain can enter and continue from the module. Status indicators report internal and external faults and the state of both connections. The module draws typically 260 mA and a maximum of 290 mA from the 5-V backplane bus. Power dissipation is typically 1.3 W and a maximum of 1.45 W; no backup current is provided. It measures 25 mm wide, 290 mm high and 280 mm deep and weighs approx. 610 g.
