The Siemens 6GK7 443-1GX00-0XE0 is a SIMATIC NET communications processor CP 443-1 IT for S7-400 automation systems. The module connects an S7-400-Station to Industrial Ethernet and supports S7 communication for PG functions, operator control and monitoring tasks, and data exchange through S7 connections. ISO transport, ISO-on-TCP, TCP and UDP are available for open communication; the module also supports SEND/RECEIVE and FETCH/WRITE services. Its IT functions include sending email, FTP access and an integrated web server for HTML-based process monitoring. This makes the CP suitable for existing systems in which control data, diagnostic access and file-based services are handled through the same Industrial Ethernet module. The network connection can use either a 15-pin D-sub socket with automatic switching between AUI and Industrial Twisted Pair or an RJ45 socket for Twisted Pair. The module supports 10 and 100 Mbit/s as well as automatic detection and negotiation of network settings. Time can be synchronized through SIMATIC time messages or NTP; for initial IP address assignment, the module can be reached through its preset MAC address with the Primary Setup Tool. With maximum current consumption of 0.4 A from 24 V and 1.8 A from 5 V at the backplane bus, plus 7.25 W power loss, its electrical integration can be assessed using the Siemens data. The enclosed module measures 290 × 25 × 210 mm and weighs approximately 750 g.
