Product description

The complete ordering designation ERN 1387 .3233-02048 RA KW TJ assigns HEIDENHAIN ID 281524-04 to an incremental rotary encoder with integral bearing and attached stator coupling. Its 2048 lines per revolution are output as sinusoidal 1-V-SS signals; an additional Z1 track provides one sine and one cosine signal per revolution for commutation. System accuracy for the ERN-1387 version is ±20 arc seconds. The −3 dB cut-off frequency is at least 210 kHz. Electrically, the encoder operates from 5 V DC with a tolerance of ±0.25 V. Current consumption without load is no more than 130 mA. Connection is through a straight, double-row 14-pin PCB connector with locking; the cable outlet can be routed axially or radially. Mechanically, the range uses a tapered shaft with a functional diameter of 9.25 mm and a taper ratio of 1:10. Coupling type 06 and shaft type 65B complete the mechanical designation. Permissible speed reaches 15,000 min⁻¹. Typical starting torque is 0.01 Nm at 20 °C, while rotor moment of inertia is 2.6 × 10⁻⁶ kgm². Axial movement of the drive shaft is accommodated up to ±0.5 mm. The typical natural frequency of the stator coupling is 1,800 Hz. For vibration from 55 to 2,000 Hz, the rating is up to 300 m/s²; for shock over 6 ms it is up to 2,000 m/s². Operating temperature extends from −40 to +120 °C. In the installed state, the degree of protection is IP40 according to EN 60529. The housing has an outside diameter of 64.8 mm and a depth of 50.5 mm; the tapered shaft projects by 19.5 mm. Weight is approximately 0.3 kg.

Frequently asked questions

Contact us
Which signals does the Heidenhain 281524-04 provide?

The ERN 1387 provides 1-V-SS incremental signals with 2048 lines per revolution and an additional Z1 track with sine and cosine signals for commutation.

Which shaft and connection version does the ERN 1387 use?

This version uses a tapered shaft with a 9.25 mm functional diameter and a 1:10 taper together with a straight, double-row 14-pin PCB connector.

What applies if an item develops a defect within 14 days?

For the condition categories “Used, removed from an installation” and “New, old stock”, the contractual 14-day right of return in the event of a defect applies. The defect must occur within 14 calendar days after delivery and be reported in text form within the same period.

In particular, the REHA tamper-evident seal must remain fully intact and our RMA approval is required before return. In an accepted case, we decide between replacement and refund. Details in Section 11 of the Terms.

Which shipping methods and delivery times are available?

The shipping method, shipping cost and estimated delivery time are confirmed for the specific order. Depending on the item, destination and urgency, we can check parcel, express or freight shipping as well as collection.
