The Siemens 3RW4027-1TB04 from the SIRIUS 3RW40 product family is an electronic soft starter for standard applications with three-phase induction motors. The S0 unit is rated for an operational current of 32 A at 40 °C and can start a 15 kW motor at 400 V in a standard circuit. The main circuit operates in a voltage range from 200 to 480 V AC at 50 to 60 Hz. The control electronics are supplied with 24 V AC or DC. Integrated bypass contacts reduce power loss after acceleration; the typical operating power loss is 13 W. The soft starter provides adjustable current limiting, intrinsic device protection, motor overload protection and thermistor evaluation for motor protection. The adjustable motor-current range starts at 17 A. Power terminals and auxiliary and control connections use screw terminals. Dimensions of 45 × 125 × 155 mm allow the device size to be compared unambiguously with the available control-cabinet space before replacement. The front meets IP20 and the permissible operating-temperature range extends from -25 to +60 °C. Two normally open contacts and one changeover contact are available for operating and fault signals. During replacement, the complete 3RW4027-1TB04 order number, motor output and current, main and control voltage, circuit type, conductor cross-sections, mounting position and upstream protection must match. Similarly designated 3RW40 variants can differ in current range, control or motor protection.
