Siemens 6AV6545-0BC15-2AX0 is the SIMATIC HMI Touch Panel TP170B Color for machine and plant operation. The 5.7-inch display uses STN technology, shows 16 colors and has a resolution of 320 × 240 pixels. Input is directly through the analog resistive touchscreen; numeric, alphanumeric and hexadecimal on-screen keyboards are specified in the Siemens data sheet. Siemens states a mean service life of approximately 50.000 hours at 25 °C for the backlight. The device uses a RISC-32-bit processor with 66 MHz. Flash and RAM form the memory architecture; 768 kByte are available for user data. One slot accepts a CompactFlash card. Configuration is documented with ProTool/Lite from version V5.2 SP2 or with supported WinCC flexible versions. The clock is implemented as a synchronizable software clock without battery backup. The communication equipment includes optional TTY, two RS232 interfaces, one RS422 and one RS485. The RS485 connection supports up to 12 Mbit/s and is used for MPI/PROFIBUS DP communication, among other functions. A separate RS232 printer connection is documented. The supply is 24 V DC; rated current is 0.25 A and typical power consumption is 7 W. When installed correctly, the device front is rated IP65 and the rear IP20. Vertical mounting is permitted; without external ventilation Siemens specifies a maximum inclination angle of 35 degrees. The enclosure front measures 212 × 156 mm and the overall depth is 45 mm.
