The analogue signal path of Siemens 6ES5460-4UA13 comprises eight mutually galvanically isolated inputs. This module 460 belongs to the U peripheral equipment of the SIMATIC S5-135U and S5-155U systems. Plug-in measuring range modules determine whether voltages, currents or Pt100 resistance thermometers are acquired. Documented ranges include 12.5 mV, 50 mV and 500 mV as well as current ranges from 0 or 4 to 20 mA; further range modules cover the respective signal type. A relay multiplexer samples the eight channels either cyclically or individually. At 50 Hz, the cycle across all inputs is 0.48 s and the integration time is 20 ms. An integration time of 16.67 ms is specified for 60 Hz. Wire-break monitoring can be configured for 50 mV, 500 mV and Pt100. Digital measured-value representation operates up to 2048 units in the rated range, while the overrange display extends to 4095 units. Shielded signal cables may be up to 200 m long; 50 m applies to ranges up to 50 mV. Enable inputs and the external supply operate at 24 V. Internally, the module typically draws 0.13 A at 5 V and externally typically 0.15 A at 24 V. Maximum power loss is 3.5 W. It occupies one slot in the rack and uses a 42-pin front connector.
