Red indicates faults, green operation and yellow data traffic: these indicators show the status of PROFIBUS DP communication on ABB CI851. The communication module belongs to the AC-800M hardware platform and operates as a Class I DP master. It connects the fieldbus through a DB9 socket on the TP851 baseplate. Nine selectable transmission rates are available: 9.6, 19.2, 93.75, 187.5, 500, 1.500, 3.000, 6.000 and 12.000 kbit/s. A maximum of 32 devices is specified per segment. The PROFIBUS DP side is galvanically isolated. The baseplate also has a two-letter mechanical key that assigns the intended module type to the slot. The CI851 receives its 24 V DC supply from the processor through the CEX bus, so no additional external supply is required. Typical current consumption is 150 mA and typical power dissipation is 3.6 W. Replacement during operation is not supported for this version. The CI851/TP851 assembly has an IP20 enclosure rating. The technical table specifies installation dimensions of 59 mm in width, 185 mm in height and 127.5 mm in depth. Its stated weight of 700 g applies to the CI851K01 package comprising the CI851 communication module and TP851 baseplate. Alongside protocol and bus configuration, the baseplate, connector position, dimensions and module key are therefore the defining technical characteristics of this interface module.

Which PROFIBUS DP data does ABB CI851 support?
The CI851 operates as a Class I DP master with transmission rates from 9.6 kbit/s to 12 Mbit/s. A maximum of 32 devices is specified per segment.
How is ABB CI851 supplied and connected?
Power is supplied at 24 V DC through the CEX bus with a typical current consumption of 150 mA. The PROFIBUS DP connection is a DB9 socket on the TP851 baseplate.
What applies if an item develops a defect within 14 days?
For the condition categories “Used, removed from an installation” and “New, old stock”, the contractual 14-day right of return in the event of a defect applies. The defect must occur within 14 calendar days after delivery and be reported in text form within the same period.
In particular, the REHA tamper-evident seal must remain fully intact and our RMA approval is required before return. In an accepted case, we decide between replacement and refund. Details in Section 11 of the Terms.

A delivery date is binding only if we expressly confirm it as binding.

International deliveries and deliveries to new customers are generally made against advance payment unless we expressly confirm another payment arrangement.
Can I return an item ordered incorrectly or found incompatible?
No. There is no general B2B right of return, exchange, cancellation or withdrawal. Incorrect or duplicate orders and a lack of suitability or compatibility with the customer’s installation are not covered by the contractual 14-day right of return in the event of a defect. Details in Section 12 of the Terms.
